Fantasy Basketball: Top five free-agent shooting guards

Fantasy Basketball: Even though the league season doesn’t start until July 1, the market for shooting guards is complete. Several All-Stars could try out free agency during the off-season and join new teams. Most Fantasy managers keep an eye on Bradley Beal and Zach LaVine as shooting guards, but there are a few others to watch if you want to build a strong Fantasy team for 2022-23.

Fantasy Basketball: The top five free-agent shooting guards:

Bradley Beal

First on the list of free-agent shooting guards is Bradley Beal; he is a player who can take a contender to the next level. He has expected to turn down his player option and go for a long-term deal. Beal could sign a five-year, $245 million deal with the Wizards, but he could also talk to other teams. Beal is still among the best scorers in the league, and since John Wall left, he has averaged 29 points per game. He might not have the same upside playing with another star. But his improved playmaking skills will make him a top-notch asset wherever he goes. Beal will get into the top five at this spot no matter what if he is healthy.

Zach LaVine

Last season, Zach LaVine didn’t sign a significant contract extension so that Chicago could build a good team around him. He and DeMar DeRozan formed one of the best scoring duos in the NBA. Other free-agent shooting guards on the rise, like Devin Booker, Donovan Mitchell, Anthony Edwards, and Jaylen Brown. They will give him a lot of competition and he might take a back seat to DeRozan again in 2022-23. But he has averaged 24.4 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game on efficient shooting since joining Chicago.

Victor Oladipo

Fantasy Basketball: After getting better from a severe quad injury, free-agent shooting guard, Victor Oladipo showed signs of poor performance in the 2nd half of the 21-22 season. It doesn’t come as a surprise that he has expected to leave Miami, where Tyler Herro and a bunch of other great wings are also playing. Oladipo has averaged 18.4 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game as a starter. Also, if Oladipo can show that he can handle a normal workload again, he could get close to those numbers again. In the few games he played last year, he averaged 20.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 5.8 assists per 36 minutes.

Malik Monk

The Charlotte Hornets stopped liking Monk because of his bad behavior in 2020-21 and let him go. But in his first season with the Lakers, he proved himself a real asset. For the third year in a row, he scored and made more plays than ever before while also getting better at what he did. Monk can achieve without passing the ball. He was one of the best three-point shooters in the league, so teams that need offense will be lining up to sign the crafty combo guard.

Bruce Brown

Bruce Brown is the last on the list of free-agent shooting guards; his offenses have improved over time, and he was a vital part of Brooklyn’s team during the rough 2021-22 season. Kyrie Irving’s schedule issues, Kevin Durant’s injury, and James Harden’s decision to leave all helped Brown have a great season. The 25-year-old wing averaged 11.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game as a starter. He shot 51.6 percent from the field and 41.6 percent from long range.
