Toronto Maple Leafs Win against the Tampa Bay Lightning in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference First Round
The Team Toronto Maple is up 2-1 in the best-of-seven series. On Sunday, they will hold Game 4 in Tampa. On Friday, the Toronto Maple Leafs beat the Tampa Bay Lightning 5-2 in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference First Round at Amalie Arena, with Jack Campbell making 32 saves.
Goal for the Toronto Maple Leafs
Colin Blackwell scored his first NHL playoff goal for the Toronto Maple Leafs. The No. 2 seed in the Atlantic Division, while Morgan Rielly and David Kampf each got a plan. For the Team Lightning, the No. 3 seed in the Atlantic, Ondrej Palat had a goal and an assist, Ross Colton scored, and Andrei Vasilevskiy made 31 saves.
David Kampf’s stellar performance in the series continued with the game-winning goal. At the same time, Morgan Rielly and Colin Blackwell also helped the Toronto Maple Leafs’ early lead in the series opener at Amalie Arena.
On the power play, Reilly scored on a stray puck after Mitchell Marner’s shot attempt deflected off the stick of Lightning defender Mikhail Sergachev at 4:54 of the first period. At 9:44, Blackwell completed a 3-on-1 rush to increase the advantage to 2-0.
At 5:52 of the second period, Kampf intercepted a Brandon Hagel pass at center ice. And scored past Tampa Bay defender Zach Bogosian from the high slot to make it 3-0.
Colton made it 3-1 with a one-timer off a feed from Sergachev at 11:03 on the power play.
Palat made it 3-2 with a shot from the left circle that went between the legs of Toronto Maple winger. Ondrej Kase and past Campbell’s blocker at 5:43 of the third period.
Ilya Mikheyev scored an empty-net goal at 18:20 to make it 4-2. And then added another with five seconds left to make it 5-2.
