Panthers Top for 12th Straight Win over Red Wings in Eastern Conference Playoff

The Florida Panthers clinched the Eastern Conference’s top seed when they beat the Detroit Red Wings 5-2 at FLA Live Arena on Thursday, tying a franchise record with their 12th consecutive win. After the Toronto Maple Leafs fell 8-1 to the Tampa Bay Lightning later Thursday, the Panthers (56-15-16) clinched the top seed in the Atlantic Division. The Florida Panthers have a two-point lead over the Colorado Avalanche in the NHL standings.

In each of its last six games, Florida Panthers have allowed no more than two goals. For the Panthers, Mason had a goal and an assist, Aleksander Barkov scored his 39th goal of the season, and Noel Acciari scored after missing 10 games due to an unexplained ailment.
